Basic Generator Plan

One of our qualified technicians makes sure your generator is fully functional for when you need it most.

Premium Generator Plan

Two visits a year, scheduled automatically, so your generator is ready at peak need.
- Spring system check (January to March) with any preventative maintenance needed
- Full preventative maintenance package each fall (October to November)

- 10% off any diagnostic cost
Platinum Generator Plan
3 visits a year · call for pricing
Three visits a year, scheduled automatically, so your generator is always prepared.
- System check in January to February
- System check in April to May, with any preventative maintenance needed
- Full preventative maintenance package in October to December
*Service plans themselves don't get the 5% service discount.
What a generator visit includes
Pre-start maintenance
- Check run history on the controller
- Inspect fuel lines and connections
- Inspect fuel level (if applicable)
- Inspect oil level and oil condition
- Inspect for leaks
- Inspect accessory drive belts
- Inspect hoses and clamps
- Inspect coolant level and coolant cap
- Inspect air inlets and clear any debris
- Check wiring for loose connections; clean and tighten battery terminals
- Check battery state
- Clean interior and exterior of the generator
Pre-start transfer switch checks
- Inspect front and cover
- Remove dust, debris and grease
- Check wiring for loose connections and corrosion
- Inspect fuses, relays and breakers
Generator tune-up
- Change engine oil with synthetic oil
- Replace the oil filter
- Replace the air filter (if needed)
- Replace spark plugs; check wiring for loose connections and corrosion
- Clean and tighten battery terminals
- Transfer power (if the ATS is accessible) for 10 minutes
- Check battery state
- Check battery cranking voltage
- Check generator voltage and amperage output; check fuel pressure under load
- Clean interior and exterior of the generator
- Run the generator 5 minutes with no load
Plan terms
- Eligibility: owners of a residential home may be eligible. If you own a multi-family home, provide the specific mailing address for each service agreement.
- Start: your plan starts the day your enrollment is processed, and you may make a service call right away.
- Cancellation: cancel any time by calling 410.216.5070. Cancel within 30 days of your start date for a full refund, less the cost of any work. After 30 days, the refund is pro-rata, less the cost of any work.
- Renewal: plans are annual. Unless you cancel, your plan renews each year at the then-current renewal price with the same payment terms. Generator plan renewal prices can change with 30 days' notice from Boh Services.
